Lauren is a writer and subject matter expert on all things caregiving. She’s CEO and founder of The Fifth Trimester, a workforce strategy firm that advances gender equality through support for caregivers across the five-generation workforce. With research, speaking, writing, and consulting she proves the value—to our souls and our GDP—of the labor of care. Lauren’s work grew out of her bestselling book The Fifth Trimester: The Working Mom’s Guide to Style, Sanity, and Success After Baby (Doubleday), written in the sunset of her first career as a media executive (RIP, print!). These days, she brings her voice to the national media (NYT, WSJ, GMA, CNN) and her compassionate capitalism to consulting clients across big law and big business. Lauren, who was named a 2025 Next Gen Award winner by Parents, is also a co-founder of the Chamber of Mothers, a national nonpartisan nonprofit that unites moms as advocates across 50 local chapters for paid leave, childcare, and women’s health.
