Laura Fraser is a longtime San Francisco-based journalist who is the author of four nonfiction books, including the NYT-bestselling memoir An Italian Affair. Her award-winning journalism and personal essays have appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times (“Modern Love”), Vogue, Gourmet, Salon.com, More, Craftsmanship, Food & Wine, Alta, O, the Oprah Magazine; and numerous others. She was a founder and editorial director of Shebooks, which published 75 short books by women. She speaks fluent Italian and Spanish and divides her time between San Francisco and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico—both 415 area codes. She teaches and coaches memoir and personal essay writing.
